Frontend Engineer
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join Cyber64 and take ownership of frontend delivery — from architecture and component design to performance, accessibility, CMS integration, and production quality.
You’ll build modern digital platforms for our clients, creating frontend systems that are fast, accessible, maintainable, and designed to scale. We’re looking for someone who understands the problem behind the implementation, makes sound engineering decisions, challenges unnecessary complexity, and helps raise engineering standards across the team.
What you’ll do
Design and build production-grade frontend applications using React and Next.js.
Define frontend architecture, balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and delivery speed.
Build reusable, composable components and contribute to design systems and component libraries.
Integrate applications with headless and enterprise CMS platforms, APIs, and backend services.
Choose and implement appropriate rendering and data-fetching strategies, including server-side rendering, static generation, incremental regeneration, and client-side rendering.
Build content preview and editorial workflows that support both developers and content teams.
Own frontend performance, including Core Web Vitals, bundle optimisation, lazy loading, caching, and rendering efficiency.
Build accessibility into the development process through semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and WCAG compliance.
Deliver responsive experiences that work consistently across devices, browsers, and viewport sizes.
Develop AI-powered experiences, including conversational interfaces, intelligent search, recommendations, and AI-generated content.
Ensure AI-enabled components remain performant, testable, accessible, and resilient when model responses are slow, incomplete, or unexpected.
Establish appropriate testing practices and cover critical user journeys.
Review code and architecture, address technical debt pragmatically, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, CMS specialists, technical leads, and client stakeholders, contributing to discovery and technical discussions.
What we’re looking for
Deep hands-on experience with React and modern frontend engineering patterns.
Strong experience with Next.js, including its rendering and data-fetching strategies.
A solid understanding of browser fundamentals, rendering, networking, caching, and web performance.
Experience designing and maintaining component-based architectures and translating design specifications into reusable, production-quality components.
Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs and working with headless, enterprise, or composable CMS platforms.
Strong understanding of accessibility and WCAG principles.
Practical experience measuring and improving Core Web Vitals.
Experience with automated testing and sound judgment about what to test and at which level.
Strong Git skills and familiarity with modern software delivery practices.
A methodical approach to debugging and resolving root causes.
The ability to explain technical decisions clearly to engineers and nontechnical stakeholders.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Bonus points
Experience delivering AI-powered interfaces in production.
Experience improving engineering standards or frontend practices across a team.
Experience leading technical discovery and client-facing architecture discussions.
What we offer
Remote work with flexibility in where you work.
Flexible working hours, coordinated with your team and project needs.
Additional and supplementary health insurance after successfully completing your probation period.
A monthly transport and meal allowance.
Clear, structured onboarding, with regular progress check-ins and guidance as you settle into your role.
A highly supportive team and open, transparent communication — we aim to make this the most supportive and transparent workplace you’ve experienced.
Real ownership and room to grow in a supportive environment where you’re encouraged to take responsibility, ask questions, and learn from mistakes.
