QA Engineer

EngineeringRemote

About the role

We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join Cyber64 and help build quality into products from the start.

You’ll work closely with developers and product teams, taking ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role focuses on hands-on manual testing, exploratory testing, and identifying issues before they reach users. You’ll help the team understand risks, improve product stability, and release with confidence.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and execute manual test scenarios based on product requirements and risk.

  • Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing.

  • Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, unexpected behaviour, and usability issues.

  • Create, maintain, and improve test cases, checklists, and test documentation.

  • Report defects clearly, including reproduction steps, expected behaviour, and relevant evidence.

  • Work with developers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve issues.

  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing across releases.

  • Identify quality risks early and collaborate with developers and product teams to address them.

  • Help improve testing processes, product stability, and overall release confidence.

  • Contribute to automated testing where it adds value.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in software QA, with a strong focus on hands-on manual testing.

  • A solid understanding of testing methodologies, defect reporting, and the software development lifecycle.

  • The ability to test complex user flows and think systematically through edge cases.

  • Experience creating clear, structured test documentation and actionable bug reports.

  • A collaborative approach to working with developers and product teams.

  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying problems.

  • A strong sense of ownership and an understanding that quality is a shared responsibility throughout product development.

Bonus points

  • Experience with API testing tools.

  • Confidence using browser developer tools to investigate issues.

  • Experience with Playwright or other test automation tools.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and how testing fits into the delivery process.

Automation experience is welcome, but manual and exploratory testing remain the primary focus of this role.

What we offer

  • Remote work with flexibility in where you work.

  • Flexible working hours, coordinated with your team and project needs.

  • Additional and supplementary health insurance after successfully completing your probation period.

  • A monthly transport and meal allowance.

  • Clear, structured onboarding, with regular progress check-ins and guidance as you settle into your role.

  • A highly supportive team and open, transparent communication — we aim to make this the most supportive and transparent workplace you’ve experienced.

  • Real ownership and room to grow, in an environment where you can take responsibility, ask questions, and learn from your own mistakes and those of others.
